Your mind can be deceiving. Be ware!

Isnt it fascinating to know how our mind can fool us into believing things that aren’t true sometimes? How we are wrong about our own past experiences? How we are compelled to believe what we see and hear yet it can be an illusion? What you want to believe is easily justified in your mind even if its not the reality. I have been curious to learn about how mind works for a long time. I dont have any professional education or training on this topic. Every opinion I have shared is based on my understanding from bits I learn from here and there.

Imagine you were sleeping all these years and all of a sudden somebody startled you from your sleep eyes wide open. Thats kind of how I felt this year did to me. With a bang came a new virus and life went from familiar to an unfamiliar territory. We are conditioned to be in the familiar territory and it takes a lot of practice to think beyond that.

Most of the times we wait for something big to happen to change the way we think. Its not easy to think about change when life goes smooth. But why wait for some disaster to happen? Our body doesn’t know the difference between an actual experience and the thought about an experience. When ever you think of a traumatic experience your body will feel the same as it is happening. To change it you have to narrate different stories to your mind. Its a choice you make.

If you keep on firing and wiring the same circuits it wont ever change the way you think. The body will feel the same. Everyday you wakeup from the same side of the bed, do the same routine and talk the same people you will end up thinking the same as you did yesterday. To go beyond that pattern you have to give different stimulations to the brain. Through practice the brain waves change and we break free from those habits that hold us from growth.

We live 70% of our lives living in survival, living in stress anticipating worst case scenarios. When your body is in flight or fight mode it only find ways to survive. There is no growth in there. When you conditioned your body into the state of fear panic attacks are inevitable.

To break free from any habit we have to go beyond the analytical mind. Your analytical mind can be exhausting and unrealistic if you are not aware of the traits it holds. A highly analytical mind is one where it seeks perfection what ever it does and over analyses everything it sees and hears. The world is not a crime scene to see it from a detectives perspective.

Dont be in such a rush to believe whatever your intellect tells you. Your intellect can be a double edge sword. It can have both favourable and unfavorable consequences. 86 billion neurons are firing and wiring in the brain at the same time is not something that can be easily comprehended.
